Le blog de Sécham » C'est beau, c'est simple, Sécham.

This week-end my best friend from my engineering school visited us. Guillaume is a special person for the « Sécham » as the name Sécham actually comes from him.
Visits are always short but we had a really good time together.
On the first day we went to Amsterdam, where we met Toni. It was cold, really cold, but we enjoyed walking along the streets and the channels. We specially enjoyed drinking a cappuccino at the « ‘t Blauwe Theehuis » and later a tea at « Four Leaves ».
That was also the occasion for me to try a new style of editing… An old fashion editing style using some tools from « vsco film ». It not really my style of editing but sometimes you have to try new techniques and accept new challenges. Just comment if you like, don’t like, or just to say hello ;o).

Enjoy the walk through Amsterdam

On the second day we had a little more time with Ketsia, who once again received a lot of presents. After a good meal, we went to a really short walk at the north sea… Really short, but long enough to be kindly asked by two pretty women to take a photo of them. And yes, if your path crosses mine, please ask ! I would be happy to have you in front of my the lens and offer you then the photos.

Enjoy the pics

We love spontaneity! Lisa, Ketsia and I did not have any real plan for New Year’s eve till we received a sms from Norma, who is the wife of Lisa’s cousin, Waldi. « What are you doing tonight? Do you have already visitors? » Do they want to spend New year’s eve with us? Then came the call… Yes they do! What a good surprise. A few hours and 423km later they were at our door. It was the occasion for Ketsia to meet her cousins, who just knew her from the pictures and from their prayers. We had a really great time and it was quite an adventure: with 3 small children you cannot get bored. We had raclette (hmm yummmy), but you won´t see any pictures of it because our small friends did not let me the time to take pictures during diner. I’m totally fine with that because sometimes it’s just better to let the camera aside and have a quality time with your friends and family.
The other funny thing with small children is that you realize that your house in not children-safe at all… Ketsia does not crawl yet with her cousins it’s another story. That was a real good training for us.
After diner and before the « fireworks’s war » we just sat on the couch and spoke about 2012 and 2013. That’s how I like celebrating New Year’s eve: sharing the blessings you received during the last 12 months despite hard times, the wishes and challenges that 2013 brings and praying all together. No big party.
Then we did see and hear the fireworks…

Because Jonathan and Jeremiah are so sweet, I did not resist to take a lot of pictures of them the next day. Enjoy that small selection.

Thanks you again Family Töws for that really nice surprise ,o)

And of course, I wish to my blog’s followers all the best, God’s blessings and Jesus’ love for 2013. Happy new year, Frohes Neues, Bonne année, Gelukkig nieuwjaar, Tratry ny taona!! See you soon on my blog for new adventures ;o)

Is sometime your picture’s workflow so big, that you realize that you have forgotten about some pictures? It often happens me as I am quite lazy at editing or ordering my workflow. This is the story of that pictures. There have been taken 20 days ago and so many things happened in between (the last 3 posts are younger than them) but I have to share this treasure that I can witness every day, namely the mother-daughter-love. I do love Ketsia and I do love Lisa but I am still thinking that a mother-daughter-love has something special that we, father, cannot really get. I am not jealous because witnessing that love just makes my day.
I hope we can get rid of the feeding tube soon in order to be able to take such pictures again and maybe I will ask Lisa to take a father-daughter-love session of Ketsia and me.
But for now just enjoy this mother-daughter-love-black-and-white session.
