Le blog de Sécham » C'est beau, c'est simple, Sécham.

It was almost midnight when Kestia started to cry out-loud.. As she is currently teething, we thought we would have again a sleepless night.. I took her and tried to nurse her in the rocking chair till I noticed something strange coming from outside. There was a very loud noise like the wind was blowing strong but the trees were not moving. I heard a small blast and thought that people were trying their fireworks in view of the coming new year’s eve… Suddenly something orange hit the left corner of my field of view: there was a small bus in fire just 3 houses down the street… Police men just arrived and fire were on their way. Fortunately it seems that there was no casualties but it was quite impressive. I gave Ketsia back to Lisa and put on my Red-cross « fotograaf » jacket. This time, this was not an exercise…

It was about time to post something new on that blog… A lot of changes happened the last weeks. First of all we moved to our new home and had to get used to this new life. It is quite a change for us, especially for me. I am a city guy. I always lived in « big » cities : Grenoble, Versailles, Toulouse, Munich, The Hague… and now we are living in the lovely town of Moerkapelle.
You do not know Moerkapelle!! You definitely should come visit us, we´ve got space.

Why living in such a remote place (Dutch scale, 25km from work, is far away in this country) in the « green heart of Holland »? Good question? I think that there is no right answer. We loved the place, we loved the house and of course we love adventure. We are still in the acclimation and installation phase but we could already host a lot of guests: our families, who helped in the first installation steps and last Saturday we hosted a surprise party for our dear friend who is faithfully leading a bible club for more than thirty years (a great example for Lisa and me).

As you can see in the following pictures our sweet Ketsia is growing and and becoming a real little girl, who loves speaking (I should rather say love saying words in German, French and Dutch), running and who is inseparable from her giraffe « Spot ». It still amazing to see her running, laughing, speaking, when you think about what she´s been through. Ketsia is our daily wonder and we are thankful for every second we can spend with her.
She could also experienced her first entry « Sinterklaas » of course cried when a « Zwarte Piet » gave her some « Pepernoten« . Dutch people are kind of crazy about Sinterklaas but it was really funny to witness a little part of the festivities.

So that was shortly some brief news from the green heart of Holland but I also wanted to share one more, the last but not the least (not really a new as a lot of people are already aware of it) : Secham won´t accept any booking from mid-April till mid-June !! Yes we are expecting our second wonder in Mai 2014. I told you, we love adventure. Thanks in advance for your prayers. More news should follow in the coming months, just enjoy the few pictures and Ketsia´s visit of our new home.

Love,
Sam
